TV Mode

Realtime Overviews (RTOs) are a core feature of TPC, when it comes to making live sensor information available to those, who need it. RTOs can be customized to symbolize complex systems, like the individual TBM subsystems involved in the advance process. But they can also be used to create Dashboards with high-level KPIs of the overall job-site progress and more. Thus, they can provide important context to engineers and managers.

Sometimes it is beneficial, to view an RTO with a bigger group of experts, to draw conclusions of a current situations. While it has always been possible to view RTOs on the TPC Desktop Client or within the TPC mobile app on your phone or tablet, sometimes you want to share what you are seeing to a bigger screen, to share information or to discuss it with others.

This is why we upgraded TPC Mobile, so that you can connect your device to any smart devices (Smart Phone, Tablet, Smart TV, etc.) which are able to work with the TPC Mobile app and use them like you would use a projector in a meeting room, or a TV at home.
With the introduction of the TPC Mobile “TV Mode” you can take over the control of the view of another device also running TPC Mobile and choose from the list of available RTOs to display on the other device.

Use it on Google TV, tablets or other compatible devices

Turn a tablet computer into a live screen by enabling the “TV Mode”, or - even better - download the purpose-made app version for Google TV, available for every Smart TV with access to the Google TV app store. It is also available on Chromecast for Google TV, which is perfect to turn a normal big screen into a smart TV for very little cost.

USE IT AS A SOURCE TO INFORM OTHERS

VISITORS
Big infrastructure jobsites get a lot of visitors. From experts, the owner, management, the press, or even visitor groups. A lot of sites present basic project information and project updates to their visitors using big screens in the foyer. Quickly equip those with a custom made Realtime Overview (RTO), e.g. a dashboard showing your current progress numbers, or a collection of web cam images.

MEETINGS
If you have a large TV screen in your meeting room, you can show a TPC RTO on it and use your own phone as a remote control. This way everyone in the room has access to the same information.

USE IT IN A CONTROL ROOM

With big projects getting ever more complex, a lot of sites make use of a central control room. Those are used to provide an overview into the processes of all critical technical infrastructure, from TBMs to muck disposal systems, vehicles and more. If you have a matrix of screens, you can use TPC Mobile to quickly put on one or several RTOs on your screens.

USE IT IN THE TBM DRIVER'S CABIN

The TBM driver's cabin normally is a room crammed with screens. If you are missing screens to display additional information to the TBM driver, you might think about adding another big physical screen somewhere. With the new TV Mode, you can save yourself some space and money! Set up a RTO in TPC, find a convenient place for a tablet wall holder and set up the screen. It is that easy.
